The Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT, Branch Potsdam, together with different collaborators will be presenting its research development in point of care testing on MEDICA 2011.

Since 2009 a technology initiative lead by the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT is investigating in laboratory technology »Made in Germany’s Saarland«. Integrating small and medium-sized enterprises and supported by the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Science the mission of the »Labor der Zukunft« (Laboratory for the Future) is to design, develop and promote future’s laboratory technology.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT, Branch Potsdam, together with different collaborators will be presenting its research development in point of care testing on MEDICA 2011.

The project »MediTRUST« funded by the EC and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia intends to substitute external cryptographic appliances by using computer integrated chips.

Der gemeinsame Kampf gegen die großen Zivilisationskrankheiten unserer Zeit wird Kontinente-übergreifend ausgefochten. Eine jahrelange erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit auf dem Gebiet der HIV/AIDS-Forschung verbindet das saarländische Fraunhofer IBMT mit der Stellenbosch-Universität in Kapstadt (Südafrika).

The first phase of the project "Labor der Zukunft" has been sucessfully completed within a round table meeting at July 8th, 2011. The technology initiative is funded by the ministry for economic affairs and science and coordiated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT in St. Ingbert, Germany. The goal of the project is to develop and implement the underlying concepts like ecologic efficiency, ergonomics and standardisation and to build capacities for future laboritory technology based in Germany's Saarland.

Die jahrelange Arbeit des saarländischen Fraunhofer-Instituts für Biomedizinische Technik IBMT auf dem Gebiet der HIV/AIDS-Forschung gemeinsam mit der Stellenbosch-Universität in Kapstadt (Südafrika) bildete die Grundlage zum erfolgreichen Start des mobilen Diagnostiklabors der biologischen Sicherheitsstufe 3 am 16. März 2011.

Was hat ein Ei mit innovativer Labortechnologie zu tun? Ist es nicht als Inkubator im weitesten Sinne, als eine Art natürliches Labor zu verstehen? - Mit diesem zunächst verblüffenden Ansatz führte der Direktor des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Biomedizinische Technik (IBMT), Prof. Dr. Günter Fuhr, anlässlich des Besuchs von Bundesgesundheitsminister Dr. Philipp Rösler im Saarland in die Entwicklung der »Biomedizinischen Labore der Zukunft« am IBMT ein.
