The IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium is an annual conference which attracts delegates from around the globe. Attendee numbers are increasing year by year, with 1500 present in Kobe in 2018. Attendees include PhD students, early career researchers, academics, representatives of ultrasonic companies, and IEEE members. IEEE IUS is a highly regarded event for engineers, scientists and interested clincians working in ultrasonics.
